England, late 1960s. A shadow has fallen over the village of Balamsdean. Crops have been failing, livestock mutilated. A feeling of dread and suspicion hangs in the air.
Arriving as the village prepares for its annual Festival of the Way, the Doctor and Freja find themselves entangled in a web of deceit and madness. Something ancient and sinister festers at the very core of Balamsdean, and it’s about to demand its due.
